Confirm the OS before you hunt APKs. Google TV with sideload permission is straightforward; heavily skinned “media boxes” may block unknown sources or kill VPN processes after idle. Verify plain HTTPS works in the TV browser, then copy the Android package from our download page—use the generic/TV-capable build, not a random phone-only repack.
Sideload without fighting the remote
Transfer over LAN file apps or USB. Enable install-from-unknown-sources only for the file manager, install, then disable it again. The first VPN consent dialog often defaults focus to Cancel—arrow to Allow. If you deny once, some ROMs never re-prompt until you clear app data.

Platforms that waste your evening
Fire TV usually sideloads; Apple TV does not run Kuaimiao natively—use a router share. Carrier boxes without unknown-source toggles are a dead end for APKs. Phone-hotspot-to-TV is only a quick account test, not a movie setup.
Narrow the fault
Phone on the same Wi‑Fi works, TV fails → ROM/permissions. One streaming app fails → clear that app’s secure DNS or force global mode. Everything fails → connection troubleshooting. Prefer official builds only.
